Zelenější budoucnost MICE: pět udržitelných projektů na Vysočině
Udržitelnost se stává stále významnějším faktorem v rozvoji konferenční turistiky a MICE sektoru...
What is the impact of restrictions imposed due to the global coronavirus pandemic on tourism in Vysočina? What developments can we expect to see in 2020? Please read the model scenarios in a study created by the Economic Impact company.
The first scenario in the analysis presents a situation treating 2019 as the default setting, i.e. with no coronavirus restrictions in place. This situation serves as the starting point when assessing impact models of the Covid-19 pandemic. The second model scenario assumes a gradual easing of the restrictions until the end of May, while in the third scenario it is until the end of August. The last scenario sees the restrictions in place until the end of 2020. The main restrictions that are currently in force and affect tourism are the closure of restaurants and other food-serving establishments, the ban on free movement of people throughout the whole Czech Republic, the complete closure of the border, the ban on travelling abroad and the ban on offering accommodation services.
All three scenarios, which factor in the restrictions, expect a major slump in both the visitor numbers and spending compared to the default scenario by 85 to 95 per cent. The situation should improve gradually once the restrictions are lifted. The future prospects are thus far from optimistic. Implementing measures in support of inbound tourism will be essential.
